I’m glad to be back with a Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit Review.
This couple of weeks has been hectic. A lot of new products are coming up at Orabel!
One of our biggest and most exciting launches is The Makeup revolution and Emily Noel Collaboration.
I can’t tell you how much I was excited! I waited patiently to get my hands on it finally and was not the only one waiting! We received a lot of emails from our customers. We’ve been all super excited and eager to get these eyeshadow palettes!
I’m a big fan of Makeup Revolution. I shared time and again my favourite products.
Emily Noel is my favourite Youtuber. Her videos are the first that I watched 4 years ago. I love how honest, and down to earth, she is! To be frank, a few months ago, I stopped watching a lot of big YouTubers. I find them quick to judge and kind of stuck in using the same higher end brands and products! I miss the old drugstore youtube tutorials!
Let’s start the review:
Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit Packaging:
Both palettes have beautiful packaging. A shiny light pink and a salmon. The Needs is small and very practical. The Wants is a bit bigger but not too much!
Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit, inside the palette:
Emily launched 2 palettes with Makeup revolution. The Emily Edit The wants and The Needs. The concept is to have a classic all in one palette to create everyday looks. And a more colourful palette to encourage creativity. The Needs is an assortment of Emily’s favourite shades from different Makeup Revolution palettes. The Wants is an original creation.
Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit, colour selection:
The Needs is basic. The colour selection is great for an everyday eye look with a couple of shades that can transition your look to a night look. The Wants has 24 well-assorted eyeshadows. The range goes from warm to cool.
My thoughts on the Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit Review, The Needs:
This palette is a must-have. In my day to day life, I love a quick look ( eyes and face). Usually, for the eyes, I will choose a camel eyeshadow from one of my palettes and put it in my crease (example the Makeup revolution Soph extra spice or Light & Shade Eyeshadow palettes). This palette is right up my alley. It contains all I need for my everyday makeup. The colour selection is fantastic. I especially love the face products chosen by Emily. The blush is super pretty! Love me some coral for a healthy looking complexion.
Here is the look I created with this palette. It’s simple but cute! Perfect for every day. I use 3 eyeshadows and voila! (A blog post will be up soon on this fantastic liquid Renaissance Flick eyeliner from Makeup revolution). The 4 face products were also used!
My thoughts on the Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit Review, The Wants:
Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit The Wants
I love the colours selection. It’s a well-thought palette with different tones and finishes. There also a nice mix of warm and cool tones. Something I noticed and liked is that if you look into the palette quadrant by quadrant, the shades go well together. I don’t know if Emily did it on purpose when putting the shadows together but it’s well done.
The eyeshadows from both palettes are pigmented and blendable. Nothing surprising from Makeup Revolution even less from Emily Noel.
Here are the eye looks I created:
Keep in mind that I’m not a makeup artist! 🙂 Just a makeup enthusiast!
The other makeup products I’m wearing:
For both looks, I’m wearing the Emily The Needs for blush, contour and highlight. My eyeliner is the Makeup revolution Flick Renaissance Eyeliner. For lips, I’m wearing the Makeup revolution Soph Nude lipsticks in Syrup and Fudge.
Overall, I’m very pleased with The Wants and The Needs. I love the concept of the palettes and think both complements each other very well!
As always, Makeup Revolution did a fantastic job! If you live in Canada or in the US, you can shop the palettes on my online Makeup Store, Orabel Canada. 😉
