I was on a hunt for a summer foundation for my oily skin. As a Youtube addicted and after doing some research, I decided to go with Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream.
My initial plan was to get one of my two favourites foundations which are the L’oréal Pro Matte or The Rimmel Lasting Finish in a darker shade. I was so tempted to test a new one since I love trying foundations and find it exciting!
My skin issues:
First of all, I have oily skin. And it gets worst in the summer. Second, my skin is sensitive, and it reacts pretty quickly to products. I hate how some foundations feels on my skin. I sometimes have this weird sensation on my skin; it feels really heavy. I hate having a greasy face too.
What I’m looking for in a foundation:
I want my foundation to be matte but not heavy. I don’t care about the coverage, especially in the summer. And I want it to look natural “ish.”.
CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream Claims:
This BB cream claims to be oil free, to not clog pores, suitable for sensitive skin and lasts all day. I agree with every claim. The formula is light and not oily at all. It’s matte. I noticed that it did cling to my small dry acne spots. I managed to get a solid 7 hours wear without any touch-ups!
CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream formula:
It has a creamy formula not too liquidy or too thick. For me, it’s medium coverage.
CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream application:
I choose to mix up two shades: light/medium and medium. I got tan this couple of weeks. And think I have a better shade match by mixing them.
Application: I loved the finish when applying it with a brush. I used the Sigma F80 and the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. It gives flawless medium coverage. However, using your fingers is faster and effective too but offers a lighter coverage. It depends on what you are looking for.
I personally always set my face. I used The Rimmel Stay Matte in transparent. And I got 7 hours wear without touch-ups. I like this powder. My only complaint is that it’s a little white for a translucent powder. In the summer, it’s a bit annoying.
I want to give a mention to the packaging! Usually, I don’t care much about the exterior design. But, I immensely like the squeezy tube. It’s practical! It’s clean and gives a lot of control.
So, overall, I enjoy the CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream very much. I like the fact that it has coverage and it isn’t just a regular tinted moisturizer. I’m entirely in love with the finish: natural, matte and not heavy what’s so ever! I recommend it!
