Braun Silk-Epil 9 SkinSpa Review

I have a very exciting blog post to share: a Braun Silk-Epil 9 SkinSpa Review.

Yes, you did hear well, we are talking about hair removal. My first experience with hair removal was at 13 years old. I remember that my mum had an old electric epilator. My aunt was on vacation at my parent’s place and suggested to show me how to use it.

I immediately fell in love with how convenient it was and used it regularly.

Before I start my review, I want to let you know that I will not be talking with details about the mechanical side. You will find all the technical information that you need from Amazon or Walmart.

I choose to buy the Braun Silkepil 9 SkinSpa epilator. My previous epilator was the Philips Satinelle and had it since 2013. It broke a few months ago. The issue was with the plug that wasn’t working anymore. I bought it for 50cad and lasted me five years. So, I’m delighted.

  • Why do I choose to buy the Braun Silk-Epil 9 SkinSpa epilator?

Before making a purchase, I browsed through the internet to make up my mind. I was hesitating between the Silkepil 9 and 7. What sold me was the 40% wider head.

Let me explain myself:

The epilators like my old Philips are good. But the downside is that those old designs have a narrow head. What it means is that it will take you more time to remove your hair. So, it’s a manner of saving time and efficiency. They are also less powerful, so it all goes back to wanting to save time!

The Silk-Epil 9 has the widest head and is fast indeed!

The other point that sold me was the deep massage pad. I know that most of the women are sharing my cellulite problem. It’s something that annoys me very much since I love to wear shorts and skirts. I made a natural anti-cellulite concoction from Pinterest and was looking forward to receiving my epilator to use the head for massages.

  • Where and how I use the Braun Silk-Epil 9 SkinSpa epilator?

They give you both an epilator head and a shaving head in the kit.

I’m not a big fan of shaving since my legs are dry. I also find that my hair grows hard, fast and painfully. Using the shaving head is only dedicated to my intimate areas that are sensitive. And it works well.

I use the epilator head for everything:  my armpits, my legs, my face and my arms. And yes I remove my arm’s hair :). The head is large and incredibly fast. I can remove the hair on my both legs in 10mn tops! It also has a fantastic adapter that fits your curves which makes it easy and comfortable to use. The head is pivoting which great to reach difficult areas.

It also has a light integrated and allows you to see and reach those tiny hairs!

  • What don’t I like about the Braun Silk-Epil 9 SkinSpa epilator?

There is nothing that I don’t like about this epilator! The price can be frightening; 150cad. But, it’s worth it. You will pay between 15$ and 40$ for professional hair removal in a salon. The investment will pay off after a few uses! I got mine from Walmart because I wanted to be sure to have a warranty. You will find it 20$ cheaper on Amazon.ca.

I’m entirely in love! My legs and arms are smooth, and I have a considerable time saved. At home, waxing is a pain. I always have sticky legs after waxing, and I hate it. Removing the wax is hard.

The epilator can be used wet and dry, but I never used it wet, to be frank. Some people will find the pain hard to stand, but you get used to it!

Some accessories are not essentials like the facial cap or the power cap. It doesn’t bother me.

Hope you enjoyed this quick review!
